SHARING EACH OTHER'S BURDENS
20 June 2026
Baca: GALATIANS 6:1-10
Bacaan tahunan: Psalms 36-39
In a meeting, the committee was shocked by a lack of funds of up to ten million rupiahs, even though the event was only two weeks away. "Where can we get money in an instant?" said the committee chairman. In that situation, the church pastor then reminded about the spirit of helping each other. "If there is still a lack of funds, let us strive and pray together. Let's bear this burden together, while believing that God will definitely help," said the comforting pastor.
Life's burdens or problems can strike anyone, starting from personal life, family, or church affairs. In such situations, the advice given by Paul to the Galatians congregation still feels relevant: help each other bear your burdens! There is a spirit of "helping each other" that needs to be ignited, so that the existing burden does not have to be carried alone. Paul also mentions about "fulfilling Christ's law", which reminds us of Jesus' teaching, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matt. 22:39).
Yes, lightening the burden is a true form of love, which can take any form, starting from sharing money, ears that listen, pats on the back, warm hugs for a wounded heart, presence in times of grief, or praying for others' struggles. Because this action is a fulfillment of Christ's law, we believe that God's help will be manifested because we are fulfilling His word by showing love to others through tangible actions. --GHJ/www.renunganharian.net

NO MATTER HOW HEAVY THE BURDEN IS, IT WILL FEEL LIGHT WHEN SHARED TOGETHER.
