REASON TO SHARE

26 June 2026

Read: 2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-15

Bible in a year: Psalms 70-73

Some people are willing to share their wealth with the intention of receiving even more blessings. They believe that those who sow sparingly will also reap sparingly. Therefore, they are willing to sow abundantly so that they can also reap abundantly. Paul teaches that those who expect a good harvest will not hesitate to sow seeds. Because, usually the results depend on the seeds sown (verse 6). However, Paul adds that doing good deeds must be done with joy. Not with sadness or compulsion (verse 7). Especially not using kindness as bait to lure blessings. Moreover, considering that believers should not be attached to worldly possessions, but to love. The desire to give joyfully is a sign of a heart bound by love. Perhaps, the biggest doubt when it comes to sharing is the fear of shortage. However, Paul asserts that God will always provide, even provide more than enough. Doesn't God provide seeds and blessings for us? Then He will also provide and multiply the harvest from what we sow. However, all of this is intended to show the work of the Lord, that is, to do good more and more. In essence, every wealth demands the responsibility to remember others. Especially our wealth in the sight of the Lord is not the amount of possessions we have, but how much love we live out. The more generosity, love, and forgiveness we have towards others, the more evident our wealth is. --EBL/www.renunganharian.net
THE GREATER BLESSINGS WE RECEIVE AND FEEL FROM THE LORD, THE GREATER RESPONSIBILITY WE HAVE TO BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS.
