ETERNAL INHERITANCE
04 July 2026
An old man named Mr. Danu passed away at the age of 82. He was not a wealthy person, did not have a luxurious house or abundant wealth. However, at his funeral, hundreds of people attended. There were neighbors, former students, church fellows, even those whom he had helped quietly. They came to reminisce his love, sincerity, and exemplary life. Mr. Danu's inheritance was not material wealth, but the impact of his life that touched the hearts of those who knew him.
The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us that chasing after wealth without a proper direction is in vain. Some people may work hard and accumulate riches, yet remain restless and unable to enjoy life. Verse 11 highlights this paradox: those who work hard and live modestly can sleep soundly, while the greedy rich are not at peace. Why? Because their wealth brings worries, anxieties, and burdens. On the other hand, an honest ordinary person can sleep peacefully because their heart is filled with tranquility.
The truth of God's word today makes me ponder, what will we inherit after we are gone? The true eternal inheritance is not a bank account, but the character, love, faith, and influence we leave in the lives of others. What we sow today, to our family, community, and ministry, will become a spiritual legacy that continues to live on. May this truth remind us to live with an eternal purpose, which is to pass on hearts touched by the love of Christ through our lives. --SYS/www.renunganharian.net

THE GREATEST INHERITANCE IS NOT WHAT WE LEAVE IN PEOPLE'S HANDS, BUT WHAT WE PLANT IN THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE.
